The Exciters

TellhimThis has to be one of my favourite party records. It's a pure driven stomper...

This falls into the glorious category of American one hit wonders. The song reached number 4 in 1962 (American charts) but the group failed to get any real attention in the following years.

The track was produced by the genius duo of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller who created great things such as  Jailhouse Rock, Stand By Me and Hound Dog.

Dusty Springfield once said in 1963, on going solo, she used Tell Him as her model vocal on how to break into the American scene.
