This awesome track from Beverly Hills Cop II was written by Bob Segar and Harold Faltermeyer. I'm sure part of the reason it's so good is Harold Faltermeyer, who wrote Axel-F after all.
Believe it or not Segar started out in a hard edge garage rock band in Detroit with Mitch Ryder, of the Detroit Wheels fame. Then he of course, fell into the classic 1980s dark glasses and guitar rock sound. And we're glad about that.
This track has everything that is good about the 1980s. Excess energy, roaring rock vocals.
Segar is like Springsteen, you just have to like him, he's like apple pie.
"breakdown, shakedown, you're busted"
