DFA1979

DFA 1979 only made one album sadly before one half of the duo went on to form MSTRFRFT but really you can't be too upset by that.

This first single Romantic Rights, rocks pretty hard, and live the duo destroyed the stage, well at least they did when I saw them.

This the kinda of band I'd like to see do a one-off gig for the fans.

Andrew WK is one of those guys that seemed to get a bit screwed over by the system. He signed some kind of agreement back in the day giving up his name rights, so all his music can't be released in the US and hence now it all seems to only come out in Japan.

Partly because of this he also has started doing quite a bit of TV work for, of all people the Cartoon Network!

Anyway presumably at some point this will get sorted and he can make more records like this one.

So if you ever sign anything, make sure you read it first!

Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin didn't release many singles, they didn't believe in them but luckily Immigrant Song is one of them. They hated the music press and wanted to release albums to be listened to as albums not as little slices taken from them.

Immigrant Song was written when they were on tour in Iceland - which is why they 'come from the land of ice and snow'.

There are very few bands that match Led Zeppelin in my opinion. Often they seem to get left out of lists that contain the likes of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Pink Floyd etc.

To Me, this is simply wrong. They are one of the best bands in the world ever. Turn this up loud and tell me I'm wrong!
