The story tells of a "spy boy" or "spy dog" i.e. a lookout for one band of Indians encountering the "flag boy" or guidon carrier for another band. He threatens to set the group's flag on fire.
Interestingly, Dr John started his music career as a guitarist until his left index finger was damaged by a gunshot while defending a fellow musician.
Dr John injects his usual New Orleans creole drawl to great effect.

Lloyd Price shot to fame with Lawdy Miss Claudy a stormer of an 8 bar blues piece in 1952. He was set for great things and then he 'luckily' got drafted to Korea in 1954. When he returned Little Richard had taken his gig and his chauffeur was recording for the studio as well!!

Slim Harpo was a blues harmonica player. The Harpo element of his namer refers to the instrument he became famous for being so good at - the harmonica.
Slim became the backbone of the Louisiana swamp blues movement and his tracks were covered by The Rolling Stones, Them, The Yardbirds and The Pretty things. He's pretty important.
This track probably isn't typical of his main output but it's really great so I'm putting it in.

Percy Mayfield was a star. He was Ray Charles' favourite writer in the 60s and wrote such classics as At The Club and Hit The Road Jack. Pretty good right!
He had a bad car accident which slowed his touring schedule and dented his self confidence but he still had it in him to produce awesome r&b numbers like this. There's definitely not enough comedy in music.
